"Never talk to me during the Jackal." I LOVE TOBY. AND HIS BADASS SMOKE RINGS.

Hey, I would put Fires of Pompeii in the New Who top 3. And Peter Capaldi managed to make the line "It's so Vulcanic, like some sort of...volcano" sound really dramatic and serious; dude is impressive.

YAY TOBY LOVE! Toby's smoke rings are a thing of awesome wonderment.

Gotta love Peter Capaldi for bringing his A game to that line, it's terrible, but he just about pulls it off. I would say it's a shame that the episode didn't give him more to do since he's a fantastic actor and an adorably huge Who geek, but Torchwood made up for that.

It's not top Five, but I do rate Fire's quite highly in terms of quality. And if had to sit somebody down and convert them to the show, it would be the second episode I put on.

Toby was my faaaaaaavorite.

He was always my second favourite, after CJ, who is one of my favourite ever characters. Love him so much though, so grumpy and yet so idealistic. (Also CJ/Toby were my OTP.)
