Recent Movies and Alan Partridge

I've seen a few movies. Saw Sherlock Holmes and really enjoyed it. I spend the movie thinking to myself 'they're just like House and Wilson' and then realising I was failing because the comparison should be the other way round. I also couldn't help but think that the movie would have been improved by the presence of Jason Statham or Vinnie Jones ( Read more... )

I love Heavenly Creatures. My favourite Jackson movie, and probably always will be. I'm curious to see The Lovely Bones. I have read the book and liked it well enough, didn't think it was AMAZING or anything.

My favourite Peter Jackson movie is The Frighteners, but I don't think I would love him as much as I do if he hadn't made Heavenly Creatures, which is such an intimate film and so far away from big budget spectacle features and just goes to prove what a wonderful director he is. I'm glad he's made a return to those kinds of films.

I went to see the movie with my Mum who had read the book, but couldn't remember anything about it, which wasn't exactly a brilliant recommendation for the book.

I liked The Frighteners as well. I like Michael J. Fox in pretty much anything though.

I'm the same with The Lovely Bones to be honest. I could outline to you the concept, and maybe one or two small details, but overall, not much more. It has probably been about 5 years since I read it though?

Douchebag! That's the word. I was looking for one that would perfectly describe Alan Partridge but that one escaped me at the time.

I had a quick look, and sadly no fic. Maybe the fanish love will increase if Steve Coogan ever gets the Alan Partridge movie made.

There were some points where for me it felt like it was missing Guy Richie's regulars. But Guy Richie's style and Sherlock Holmes made for a wonderful match.

Lol, Brain Dead. I love that movie as well. Best use of a lawnmower ever.
