Big Fall TV Post

With fall tv premiers happening soon, this is about the time when I go on a tv cull, deciding what to watch and what to not watch. But this year, I seem to be watching very little so I don't need to drop things to make room. Of the new shows last year, the only one I really checked out was Fringe, and I got bored of that pretty quickly and stopped ( Read more... )

I too, will be continuing on with Glee, and will definitely try Flash Forward considering the cast. Other than that, I'm curious about Jeremy Northam in Miami Trauma - only because it is Jeremy Northam. I'll also be watching the new series of The Mentalist, Castle, and of course The Big Bang Theory (♥)

I've been meaning to check out Castle for a while now. I adore Nathan Fillion.

I hadn't heard of Miami Trauma. I wonder if it's any relation to Trauma, Cliff Curtis' new show. The similarities in names at least wont do either show a favour.

I quite like Castle. On the surface, it comes across as every other crime/drama, however Fillion makes it way more enjoyable. Kind of what Simon Baker does with The Mentalist. They both have a charm about them that make you want to continue watching. It is certainly not bad by any means though.

I haven't heard of Trauma. They may be related.

I remember Popular, though I never got on that bandwagon. I wanna check out Glee, though. Haven't seen the pilot yet, but it looks fun. I can only pray that it doesn't fill me with hate and ick like Election (also by the same guy, :/) did.

You must check out the pilot when you get the chance. It's just so wonderfully charming.

And I thought Election was done by the guy who did Sideways, not the guy who did Popular (you are talking about the Reese Witherspoon movie, right?)

Now that I'm searching, I'm not actually seeing him listed for either. Though I know references to both were made in articles about Glee and they have some production team (the director, for one) in common.

I think I'm going to be dropping House. The majority of this last season just didn't do anything for me. I didn't think I would mind House/Cuddy, but it made me cringe and fast-forward. D: (House/misanthropy = OTP)

I remember Popular, but I think I was a few years too old for it. I probably would have loved it had I been five years younger when I saw it.

I'm going to be watching SJA, NCIS, Grey's, Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, Dollhouse and Chuck (although it might not air until spring). I'm waiting for reviews of Glee, the NCIS spinoff, Stargate: Universe and V before I consider whether or not I want to see them (I'm not holding my breath with those last three).

I didn't think I would mind House/Cuddy either, but the way they wrote it (i.e. making the both act out of character, particularly Cuddy) made it godawful. The Head!Amber plot made season five briefly brilliant for a while, but the set-up was let down by the pay-off and really, it's only the promise of more Chase and Cameron that has me interested at all in season five.

The V pilot has been getting good reviews, but I'm with you on not holding my breath on the new NCIS and Stargate spin-offs. Spin-offs of procedurals are rarely better than their parent show, and the Stargate franchise is getting a bit tired.
