Two Things & A Poll

1. A trailer has been released for season two of Ashes to Ashes. Finally. It's been far too long since season one and I'm all excited because about it having the Falklands War as a backdrop.

(There's also a trailer for Planet of the Dead about, but I assume everyone's seen it already).

2. I've signed up for the femgenficathon which shall hopefully get me ( Read more... )

I LOVE the Sarah Connor Chronicles. My fiance is really into the Terminator franchise, but I really like how they blend canon and create new worlds. Plus, Sarah Connor is tough.

I'm a bit hesitant since I watched the pilot but didn't get instantly hooked, but then I've seen people say that the show is much better than the pilot and my mother's been raving on about it (she's the Terminator fan of the family).

I think I'll give it another shot. I've heard that thematically it's pretty similar to BSG so it might be prefect to follow up to BSG and I'm in a mood for dark thinky sci-fi at the moment.

Heroes has gotten a lot better since Bryan Fuller came back as a writer--I'd say the last three episodes have been on par with season 1 quality.

And if you watch Dollhouse, watch the first two episodes, then skip 3, 4, and maybe even 5. You need the first two for background (and the second one is actually decent), but the show isn't really worth watching until episode 6.

I took me so long to get unhooked from Heroes. I think I might wait out the season to see if it continues on the trend and if Bryan Fuller's going to stick around for season four.

Plus I'm really pissed they killed off Daphne.

Eh, I'm cool with Daphne's death. I mean, I didn't actively hate her or anything, but I hated her and Matt's relationship. I danced a jig when she broke up with him in that little imagined real world thing they had going on, because finally someone was pointing out the ridiculousness of being with someone just because he had a dream about you.

I'd rather they killed Matt though, that's for sure.

Merlin is cracky slashy goodness. And I'm not even a slash-person in general.

I second the vote for Merlin.

I've also been watching House.

Have you ever watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I lose track sometimes of who watches what on my flist)? I still feel that it remains the Best TV Series of All Time. Please don't let the sometimes annoying Internet fandom put you off, if you've never watched it.

I've been watching Kings, but I'm thinking about dropping it (not that there's anything else on Sundays at 8:00 PM). The only reason to watch it is for the pure awesome of Ian McShane, but the writing isn't good enough for him. I'd rather watch old episodes of Deadwood or Lovejoy.

Eureka is a good, quirky, fun show. In a world where most science fiction is DARK and DEPRESSING, it's nice to see fluffy but still well-done sci-fi.

I've seen a few episodes of seasons six and seven and I liked it. It used to be on during the day and I'd catch it if I didn't have any lectures and was home. It's just with seven seasons + five seasons of Angel, getting into it seems so daunting a task.

I'd forgotten about Eureka. My brother likes it so I may check it out at some point.
