Which macbook to purchase for med school?

i don't know much about macs and i'm not a terribly picky person when it comes to computers, but as far as i know the macbook air doesn't come with a disc drive. That's how they make the macbook air and mini laptops so small. So consider that in your decision. Right now my lack of a disc drive is kind of inconvenient, but not overhwelmingly so.

My friend is doing his premed and because of an emotional disorder, the school he's going to gave him a free Macbook Air. Maybe that'll help? I don't know if they give them to the students with disability based on the courses they're taking or what, but.. I assume a Macbook Air would have everything a student would need or they wouldn't have given it to him.

I'm actually getting ready to post my Macbook Air on eBay. I'm not sure if you are interested in a used one. It's the 2009 version with 4gb memory and 250gb hard drive. Unfortunately it does not have Apple Care. :-(
