Cor love a duck! (As my Aunt would say) These caps and the earlier ones are painfully beautiful - thank you so much.

Estë, they are lovely, aren't they? Or, should I say, he is lovely. No, both. They are lovely frames of a love character. I've been scrolling through them again this morning myself.

Mechtild, you're killing me here! I really must sit down and watch FOTR again so I can watch this poetry in motion!

Good morning, Maewyn! Ah, the beauty of DVDs is the "pause" function. Do you know what I noticed, too, making these sets of caps?

Even though our newer TV of the two has a pretty big screen and a very good picture, I really do believe the resolution is better on this computer monitor. For pure drooling, I think I have preferred pausing through the film on this machine, even though the screen is much smaller, than on the big TV.

Just wait till high definition TV's are everywhere (no, we don't yet have one. They will have to get a lot cheaper than they are)! And PJ mentioned wanting to put out a new edition once there was the next generation of super high definition stuff on the market -- either super HD DVD's or whatever format will be next. Ooooh, I hope I'm still alive to see it!

(choke!) These are so incredibly sweet! I never notice the big guy in the scene either.. (I wonder why? Could it be that I am watching somebody else?;-) I managed to get a really good one of him running in focus too that you didn't get. But maybe you don't like that one. You are very sensitive to lighting and angle. I noticed that he doesn't look quite Frodoish sometimes too.. like in the picture above that you mentioned (And sometimes a LOT not Frodoish) The lighting in that is coming in at a funky angle and somehow flattening some key features of his face. One of those incredible crystal blue eyes is being lit from within and the other isn't.. but I think it is the flattening that is doing it. I LOVE the curve of his neck in this though! So male and adams apple-ly. I always think of a stallion when I am admiring his neck. Okay I am weird.. but I am horsey and intact stallions have this beautiful extra muscling that they arch to show off for the mares. (Jeez.. I can't think of anywhere else I could say this except some horse ( ... )

Oops, I just wrote a comment and deleted the thing. Urggg. taerie, I had been saying I had thought of horse comparisons, too. When we in the Harem were discussing Alan Lee's Frodo portrait that he made after starting work on the films, obviously but not completely based on film Frodo (see icon for small version), I actually compared the head to that of vaguely remembered paintings or drawings of the heads of famous 19th century Arabian sires (Godolphin? Darleigh?). Their heads had much of the same character, I thought: Big, sensitive, expressive eyes, a lot of brow area in proportion to the neat, finely-modelled chins, a soft mouth, lots of good bone and muscle beneath the satiny coat, and a very intelligent expression, all set off with a luxurious bit of forelock. But your remark about the power of a stallion's neck reminds me of one of the differences between the Alan Lee Frodo and film Frodo: the power of the neck. EW has a notably, viriley, male neck. That neck is possibly what makes people write fanfic about him, fanfic that ( ... )

I hadn't thought of that. Yes I can see the resemblance. (I actually got to see those horse portraits up close and personal at the Queen's exhibit that was touring.. I think I mentioned that exhibit before.. It was so incredibly great to see the originals of paintings that I remember staring at in books as a child.)
If this particular stallion ever got put up to stud I would be in line to get booked for him! LOL!
I am checking out the scrapbook thing today and I will put that screen capture in it in case you miss it you can get it there.

Film Frodo really does make a lovely little stud. Heavens! Frodo Baggins ~ Stud Services ~ Fee Negotiable ~ Enquire Within. It would made a great little sign to hang on the gate of Bag End.

I would love to have that screen capture. If your figure out how to do your photo album, leave a note somewhere, do.

I must admit I'm the opposite of you. I don't care for the money shot at all. Looks too geeky. And I just love the laughing scene. Oh well, that's what makes life interesting. It would be awful if we all liked exactly the same thing. Yes, we need variety which brings on discussions. Don't mind me, I'll right click save on, well, quite a few of them actually. Is that okay?

I HOPE it's okay. I am a right clicking machine! Hadn't thought to ask.

I really like the Money Shot, Shelbyshire, but I don't swoon over it when it is actually playing. I just think he looks wide-eyed and elated. But, as screencaps, I find them very beautiful. "The Laughing Scene"? - ah, I love all of Frodo's material in the opening segments.

Yes, go right ahead and click and save. That is one of the reasons I am doing this, actually, posting them in my LJ. I wanted you all to be able to have access to more Frodo caps, if you wished to have them. I just thought there weren't that many to choose from anymore (in the online galleries).

Yes, his ass (or is it his "horse"?) is quite lovely. The segment goes by so quickly in the film, a fan really does need screencaps to truly enjoy the look of it. Love the way the velvet is worn a little bare. From all the fondling he gets, I am certain.

Yes, that posterior is a work of art. And why not, when film Frodo is such a classic?
