Out of this world Mechtild - thank you.

Have you seen the film ‘Orlando’? There is a beautifully sensuous bedroom scene in it between Tilda Swinton and Billy Zane. Perhaps you could cap that scene and use something from it to illustrate ‘Threshold’

Here follows a few lines from one of the songs from the film that made me smile.

I am coming, I am coming!
I am coming through,
coming across the divide to you.
In this moment of unity,
feeling an ecstasy: to be here, to be now -- at last I am free!

Oooh, no, Este,I have not seen "Orlando," although I have heard good things of it. Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention as "food for visual thought."

And Billy Zane! No kidding! I think that that is the name of the actor who is supposed to be the model for the pharoah in "Jah", the AU Egypt fantasy fanfic with EW cast as the hero, a concubine to the pharoah. I still haven't read it, but I think every character is supposed to be modelled after an actor, many of them from LotR.

But when I heard people talking about it in LJ, I remember thinking, "Who the heck is Billy Zane?"

So: If I watched Orlando, I might see some good illustrations for Threshold and finally see who Billy Zane it. Cool.

Hey, I saw Titanic. The icky fiance? He was definitely icky. Good performance.

Today at the library I checked the system. They didn't have a copy of Orlando. I checked Inter-library loan (which looks into holding around the state, including universities) and while there were a lot of VHS versions out there, there were only a few DVD holdings out there. I put in a request at once, figuring the rental places wouldn't have either. If it shows up I'll be able to watch it and see if there is some real screencap material.

This is just to show I can still do a manip in which Frodo is dressed.
LOL.

He is gorgeous, though. Excellent choice of Frodo head for this drawing. I am amazed how well you adapted the texture of the screencap to this drawing.

Thanks, Frodosweetstuff. This artist required a little work to get a better texture match. An artist like Bourguereau, whose detail is so fine-tuned and whose brushwork is so blended that his pictures sometimes look like colourized stills from silent movie epics, is much easier to fit a photographed face into.

I've been visiting to enjoy (and be awed by) your manips for a while, but this I think is my very favorite. It's absolutely flawless- such a perfect, seamless matching of photo and painting. He's an Unknown Man no longer. Thank you for sharing this and all your other works.

Why, Ibilover, thank you so much! The result pleased me very much. Your remarks give even more pleasure.

Poor "unknown man," but he gave his image all for a good cause. :D

Why, thank you, Trianne, so much. It was a very suitable painting, I think. I had saved several at an art site for eras of Tudor portraits. Every other one of a young man made me squee. "Ooooh! Wouldn't he look great in that!" I must appeal to my closet costume designer.
