FotR TE Extras Caps ~ Miscellaneous Frodo

Nov 29, 2005 21:04

Well, Christmas and New Year's are drawing near and I am going to have to knock this off for a while. I have one more set of screencaps to post after this. After those, I am going to make myself desist from preparing any more caps until the New Year. Holidays are crunch time at our house, especially for the mom-person....

Furthermore, I still have written almost nothing new in my story since last month. Obviously, I am all too content to seek more immediate gratification writing posts for LJ and messageboard threads. But that is going to STOP. *puts on serious face*

Anyway, here are my last three sets of Elijah-as-Frodo caps from the Extras. (My others are of Elijah as himself practicing sword work; these will appear in a separate entry since there are quite a few of them in the series.)

1. The profile shot.

Having looked through caps from the actual films for profile shots of Frodo to use in my Art Travesty manips, I know there aren't that many in which he has a clean face. Therefore, I leapt right on these. These two were the best focussed in the sequence.

I suppose it's silly to post both, since they are virtually the same shot, Elijah held himself so still. But there is the slightest, tiniest difference between frames that makes it impossible for me to choose just one.

(I know, I know. I'm hopeless....)

2. The in-front-of-the-flowers shot.

These were taken from another little featurette. I suppose they must be doing a light check. I liked the pensive, inward expression on EW's face in these, as if he were getting in character for the shot to come. These were the best focussed frame in the series. I liked the flowers, too. Again, the two shots are nearly the same, but I just couldn't decide which I liked best. *sheepish face* Perhaps I will look at them long enough to think of amusing captions for the lighting person to be thinking as he holds that meter up to Frodo's waistcoat.

3. The following-Aragorn-into-the-Wild shot.

This series of caps is from a sequence shown in the film, although I am not sure the entire sequence made the final cut. It's from the part when Aragorn is leading them through the woods, and Frodo is explaining that if Aragorn were a villain, he would seem fairer and feel fouler.

I love this series for two reasons: the deep, jewel-like colours are gorgeous (ah, the Eyes, the Eyes!). I also LOVE the expression on Frodo's face. It is one book fans didn't get to see enough of in the films. Canny. Resolute. Strong. Determined.

Yeah!
