Even the Most Rambling Paths Lead to Rome, for Rare Pair Fest and for two H/C Bingo prompts

Title: Even the Most Rambling Paths Lead to Rome
Fandom: Sherlock
Rating: PG-13
Characters/pairings: Molly/John, Mycroft, Sherlock, Mrs. Hudson, Lestrade
Warnings (including spoilers): Major spoilers for The Reichenbach Fall.
Wordcount: 10,037 words
Author’s Note: There is a reason for the run-on sentences, I swear! I was trying to get inside Molly’s head, and that’s how I imagine her. It doesn’t make for a particularly graceful read, but I imagine being inside Molly’s head wouldn’t be particularly graceful either. Written as a rarepairfestTreat for alley_skywalker on Ao3 and as an hc_bingofill for the combination ‘Abandonment issues’ and ‘Nightmares.’
Summary: After she helps Sherlock fake his death, Molly finds it difficult to look John in the eye. She tries, though, and finds that he’s not at all what she thought he was, and maybe, just maybe, she isn’t either.
