“I’m back! Joong, you here?”
Hyunjoong immediately strolled out of his room fully dressed as Jaejoong made his way into their shared apartment.
“Hey Joong,” Hyunjoong greeted, using the shared syllable of their names out of habit while fixing his jacket. “Can’t stay though, meeting a few friends tonight. You have a guest, though.”
“Oh really? Who?”
“I would tell you, but I’ll let you suffer,” Hyunjoong cackled, quickly running out of the aparement.
Jaejoong huffed in mock frustration before laughing it off and walking towards his room. Once inside, he opened the door to a seemingly empty room. Frowning, confused, he entered his room completely and scanned the area, looking for any trace of anything different.
There, huddled in the corner near his bed, was a small ball of gray fluff. Curious, he approached it slowly, startling when it moved once he neared enough.
~Meow~
“Hey there,” Jaejoong greeted, kneeling down close to the small critter, thrilled when it allowed him to pick it up. “Where’d you come from?”
As he cradled the cat, his fingers brushed over a small piece of paper wrapped loosely around the kitten’s paw. Taking it off, he smiled as he read the neat scrawl he would recognize any day.
Think of me?
Laughing, he held the kitten in front of his face.
“You have to be the only living being in this earth that has a smaller face than that pabo,” said Jaejoong, chuckling (he did NOT giggle) as the cat licked his nose before meowing again. “Come on, let’s get you something to eat.”
The apartment thus seemed to shine brighter.

The shared syllable of the name thing is inspired by tatsunotoshi . Since the last syllable of our names are similar, we just call ourselves that. We still do it, actually, despite us knowing each other’s real names. XD XD XD
