The funny thing is - I think I'm not warming to him as quickly because I see too much of Ten in him.

That's exactly my concern. I wish they'd gone a bit different in the way that the versions of the Doctors are.

ETA: To elaborate on that, I have the same problem with the TARDIS. It's different but it's the same color scheme, and I was expecting something more ... new.

That being said -- I definitely enjoyed the episode and I thought little Amelia stole the show. I'm very fond of Amy in general.

I"m thankful that they didn't go too strange on the color scheme, honestly. Although had they gone to something more like Eight's TARDIS, I would have been in love. :)

I think the colors are just the semi-earthy organic thing that's just in "style" right now. I noticed more glass vs. metal in the new version - something I'm seeing in new restaurant design in my area.

Little Amelia did steal that show. She was awesome.

I do question the choice of shiny floors with a short-skirted companion. Just sayin'. My mother always told me to avoid shiny patent leather shoes when I wore skirts! :)

The TARDIS - what we've seen so far - is lovely. I know from reading spoilers that it's amazingly huge. I can't wait to see more. The whole "library in the pool" as it crashed = awesome. The grappling hook to get OUT of the library in the pool? Perfect.

That scence crack me up.

It was a good episode.
Amy, I fell in love with. she's awesome.

Matt smith is good he sort of won me over towards the end. but I love Amy.

I've heard that the set is 3x what the one was during the RTD era - with multi-levels and such. That makes me very happy.

I smirked when Eleven opened the doors and called the TARDIS a sexy thing. She really is.

I imagine he will go off on his own soon - I hope he does. I remember a very distinct lunacy from Nine to Ten that was different, and I guess what holds me back from falling in love with Eleven is that it just seemed like some soap opera in a way, i.e. "starting this week the Doctor will be played by Matt Smith" with no other explanation.

From Nine to Ten, there was a distinct jump and difference in behavior/mannerisms. I'm not seeing it as much here.

You know, I felt this way about the Nine to Ten jump, too . . . until I went back and re-watched those first few episodes. It's funny how hindsight changed things in my head, because as I was re-watching them, I saw *so much* Nine in Ten in the early days. It was like he hadn't quite settled into himself, and was still executing things based on old patterns . . . which is partly the writing and partly the acting, and if any of it's intentional, I don't know. But being a good fanficcer, I chose to interpret that a new Doctor may resemble his previous regeneration more in the early days, before he's done settling into himself.

And I'm with you 100% about the grappling hook and the swimming pool. Priceless. I laughed so hard the neighbors probably heard me from a house away.

LOL - we completely see those episodes differently. The more I've watched them, the more I see a difference between Nine and Ten!

I don't doubt Eleven will settle in his own route soon, though.

I liked that he had to use a grappling hook to get out but, I'm too much of a librarian, I was sitting there thinking "OMG NO THE BOOKS! THE POOR BOOKS! WATER DAMAGE!" and I'll probably have nightmares from that. Yeah, I'm strange like that. Though, with that crash I can *totally* see how the pool would land in the library.

I was very unsure and wary of Matt from the get go. But he's quickly earning himself brownie points. He got stopped at Heathrow because he had a sonic on him, he wrote fanfic to get ready, and he spat out the evil baked beans. :D Yeah, I'm warming to him.

hahahahaha! I'm sure the TARDIS can clean the books just fine. No worries! (tries to sooth the inner librarian)

Hadn't heard that about Matt. That made me giggle. Awesome. Granted - he has to cover a LOT of Doctor Who geek ground to reach Tennant off-screen. If that's even possible.
