*waves to new f-list people* Welcome guys! Nice to meet you all... hopefully we'll have some great chats via LJ in the future. I'll toss a new intro post up later this morning once I have some coffee... I don't think I've updated the thing for about three years anyway

I never understand why people are made to work between Christmas and New Years it always seems a bit pointless as it’s a few days.
I’ve never done a friends cut, I hate the idea of them I’d feel awful if I did one. I don’t like upsetting people.

And yeah - I hate the idea too. I mean - I sometimes get overwhelmed and can't catch up, but to solve that, I just use reading filters to make things easier (communities vs. personal journals).

I'm never sure why companies open between Christmas and New Year, but I'm forever glad mine isn't one of them.
As for End of Time Part 1, all it successfully made me do was dread End of Time Part 2, which I can only hope is as epic and amazing a send off as Ten deserves.
Look forward to getting to know you :)
Lol, Fi.

I'm dreading part 2, too. It's one of those "I'm really excited to see how this goes" but "omg it's the end of Ten! Nooooo!" at the same time.
Looking forward to getting to know you, too!

I'm not sure how I feel about it either yet, except I know I don't want DT's time as the Doctor to be over yet. Maybe if I just don't ever watch the 2nd half, I can pretend it's not? :(

And yeah, I'm kind of where you are on the 2-parter. I don't want DT's time to be over, even if my brain is accepting that hey, it's part of the show and that I can respect him wanting to leave on a high point. But I still will flail.
That said, from midnight on the 1st, BBC-A is doing a straight marathon of all of Tennant's eps in order, finishing off with the finale. :) So hey, I can at least rejoice in watching him a LOT next weekend.

If I were you, I'd pull out a notebook and work on the fanfic in long-hand. Ever so old fashioned and satisfying. Then you can put it on your computer and do the 'edit thing' at your leisure.
BBCA has been rocking. So nice to have the new Who the next day, wasn't it? And so much fun watching the Christmas Who's on Christmas eve...I'm going to miss David.
You know a 'Torchwood meets West Wing w/a drop of the Dr' would be a fun fan fic...Captain Jack hitting on Sam Seaborn brings thoughts of pretty boys run amok!
And I've now written more in your comments than I did in my whole entry. Guess I need some prompts?
Happy New Year!

It is honestly satisfying to work fic in longhand - I normally do at least scribble scenes that way. My only problem is that I get all squirmy about writing sex scenes in public (which makes NO sense since I'm going to post them on the internet... but whatever). So I start writing them in Cyrillic letters (an old habit from high school note passing with my friends who were in Russian class with me). And THEN I spend twice as much time trying to figure out what the heck I wrote since I'm writing phonetically!
I'm highly amused by the prompt. Crossovers will take me a while... but I shall do my best!
(Jack and Sam Seaborn. Dear Goddess, I'm in trouble...)
