Everything could be great. Rena was visiting, we talked, we wrote, we had fun.
Then yesterday my USB-Stick broke.
EVERYTHING I wrote was on that thing. Original and Fanfiction. EVERYTHING.
It is broken beyond repair I am told.

I think I am depressed.

Depending on how you broke it, you might be able to solder it back together.

well *broke* is perhaps the wrong word. The thing just refuses to work. All I get are error-messages. The person at the computer-shop said that there *might* be a chance to safe some data - if I were willing to spend nearly 1000 Euro (without guaranty that it would work)

Thankfully Rena had most of my stuff on her hard drive. Just the original stories are gone *sniff*

That sucks, in the future, back everything up in more than one place. Go for SSD over a moving disk and then you can whack them for all they are worth. Hope no new Thoth stuff was on there! *one of the many die hard fans*

Oh, you can bet that I'll create backups in the future.
And there wasn't any *new* Thoth lost - just my rewrite of the first two chapters (which isn't as bad as it sounds). Everything really new I had sent to rena_lime, so it isn't totally lost.
*G* Nice to know that despite my slow progress there are still fans out there!

*and why the h*** do I not get any e-mail notification of the comments in this thread?*
