LOL! I like Sylar's POV - a car's only as useful as what you can do with it (or who you can do in it). And I like that Peter's onto him so quickly. I can't see Sylar being too much of a car afficianado - I mean yeah, it's a mechanical device so there's that tie-in, but in canon he never seems to look twice at cars.
Yes, the guy who drives around in the Campbell's woody station wagon does not care about cars or his cool, badass reputation while driving any tacky car.
I pictured Sylar bemoaning the lack of abandoned, useless cars in the Wall verse for the purposes of the backseat and driver's seat blow job. (He picked the white interior because he thought Peter and Peter's hair would look great lying on it ;) I can also see Peter grumbling about the bruises on the top of his head from bumping into the car door!
