He saw why being forgiven, accepted, normal, and being cared for and belonging seemed impossible for Sylar.I'm still wrapping my head around that - around the degree of deep-seated shame Sylar must feel. It's not something I have as a big component of my own psyche, so I have to back into it through insecurity about how others will perceive my body image. Personally, I'm happy with my body. There's things I'd like to change, but it serves me well enough and those changes are within my grasp if I put my mind to it. I'm not ashamed of it, but I *am* as well informed as anyone else about the public perception of a fat, plain, older woman. I get that other people actively loathe themselves and feel worthless, but seeing that in one of the characters I write for is something I'm still struggling with ( ... )
