Title: They Are Like My Children Characters: Sylar (Gabriel Gray), Peter Petrelli Rating: G Word count: 274 Setting: Inside the Wall Summary: Sylar is happy to realize he can feel love.
Awesome! I love it. 'All my little children! Gather them unto me ...'game_byrdOctober 21 2012, 03:57:41 UTC
Peter stared at him for a few long minutes, his expression vacillating between a smile of approval and an appalled grimace. "Your abilities?" he said evenly. "And books and clocks." He shook his head and looked away, trying to get his reactions consistent. "I can't figure out if I should agree because ... I understand feeling that way about powers, or if I ... should be upset because ... really, Sylar, don't believe it when people tell you how you feel. Only you know that."

I admit, I kind of gaped there at the Jesus/Sylar reference! That's pretty...uncanny (and unintentional) but it fits perfectly.
Good point, Peter, you tell him! I like the idea that Peter thinks its sort of cute (or pathetic) that Sylar likes books and clocks as his #2 and #3 top things to love in the world. I can't wait until Peter gets to talk about how much he loves his powers and what they make him feel like - no, 'they make me feel like I can fly!' isn't an answer, lol!
I always love the mixed-Peter face.
Thanks for responding! I enjoy your Peter snippets.
I was quite proud of this one since my writing partner likes optimistic happy endings and I pulled one off unaided! Even a blind hog finds an acorn.
I suppose I picture Sylar going "My babies are gone!" at losing his powers and when they do something cool he's like the father with his genius firstborn for all his bragging.
