this past week has been the worst week of my life. i took meagen to the dr because she had a pain in her knee. the x rays showed a tumor. the next day we went for an mri. the mri showed a fracture coming out of tumor. i was in full panic - freak out mode. we went to an ortho specialist today and found out her tumor is benign. they will watch the

When I was eight, I had something swelling in my neck, they eventually had to do exploratory surgery. They found an infected lymph node and told my parents it was probably leukemia, just a few days before Christmas, and they'd get back to us before the New Year. Some quick thinking on my pediatrician's part had a call in to the pathologist and he checked out the slides of the removed node. It was Cat Scratch Fever, and I just needed antibiotics.
From then on, whenever things looked bad or stressful in my mom's life, she'd remind herself "You know what? It's okay. It's not a kid with cancer."
