there are two small, narrow windows in this basement room that i have moved into, which shouldn't look out onto anything but dirt. foreseeing this, the architects of this house built small, narrow holes in front of them, so a bit of sunlight gets in from above ( Read more... )

You should make a little compost pile down there with apple cores and the like, so you can have a tiny ecosystem going. The compost will give food for the worms and the worms will give food for the amphibioids.

It'll be like having a zoo outside your window.

haha. i was thinking of doing somethig like that actually (like putting bugs down there or something) but your idea is a lot more interesting and a lot less gross. hmmm.

sorry i've been so antisocial lately. i can't explain it. next time it's sunny maybe we can go for a stroll in robert e lee with my dog if you aren't averse to strolls or dogs.

That sounds good to me. Also, if you're game I'm gonna be going to the Book Thing on Saturday morning with a couple friends. It's a place downtown that has gazillions of books that are all free. I found some amazing things there last time I went. If you're interested, you're be welcome to come along. If not, it's fine too, but it'd be awesome if you were.

I know you don't use LJ, but I loved your username and clicked it.

And I liked this entry about toads. It would be kind of creepy, for sure, but it's also really neat. I love life.

I used to have a spider in my bathroom. It fell into my bathtub, and I rescued it. I think that happened more than once. I felt awful, but it somehow survived. I'm sure it crawled off and died, though, because I don't see it anymore, and there's probably nothing to eat for a spider in here in the winter. :( I've been sort of upset over it.

Goodbye!!!
