Why do these always make me think of song lyrics?
The church bells chimed
and they rang 29 times
for each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald!
The bells are ringing
for me and my gal...
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
their old familiar carols play...
or of course there's always:
ask not for whom the bell tolls...

It tolls for thee.
(another great poem. funny, all the things I've read that on the surface I've forgotten until some fragment comes up and then the whole thing bubbles up in my brain.)
