Uhm... I do not know how to say this, but I...

I thank you for retrieving Green to me. She is under control now.

I realize that I cannot erase what has already occurred. I can only take back the hand of death.

But that is... not enough, is it? So I will try to answer any questions. About Discedo and Accido. Or about Green. I don't know if I can ( Read more... )

Is she alright?

And... if you can, tell me about these ghosts.

Physically. Mentally, I cannot say...

... From my own observations, they seem to be the people who used to live here.

Before you all, that is.

Take good care of her then.

I see.

And what of the other cities? Spero, and Dissimulo?

Dissimulo... well, the people who went there saw what became of it. Spero has long since been destroyed.

Why is there such animosity between Discedo and Accido?

That, I do not know. It goes before I was born. Two cities that both began on the lake at around the same time. I suppose time and proximity had a factor in it. They have always been our rivals, whether in something like fishing or something like science.

How much control do you - any of you - have here?

I wonder if it is in my best interest to answer that.

Well... let's begin with the biggest point.

You've proven that you can transcend time and space to bring something or someone to this plane. You can even erase a death.

So... why couldn't you have used these abilities to manipulate your own timeline and fix all of this?

It doesn't work.

Did you live in this city, once...?

Yes. I have lived here all my life.

I see. Do you, and those with you, believe we can help restore it?

mea_dulcissima May 4 2009, 04:17:31 UTC
Maybe you can. Maybe you can't. But it is better than what we had before.

It's nice that you apologize... it's just too bad everything happened.

Um... a lot of people think we're here to help you restore Discedo... but why bring all the young children? This place is very dangerous to them, even if you bring people back from the dead.

They shouldn't be here...

I'm sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to expand on that question a bit -- how is anyone who comes here selected? There are enough patterns and unlikely coincidences that I can't imagine it's random, but not enough to make it clear what the intention of choosing this specific group of people is.

And in that vein, why are some of them sent home?

The technology of reaching other worlds is still new. All I can say is that it is still, how do I put it? Work-in-progress? Thus we cannot guarantee everything that happens.

Does the technology have a tendency to...stick to paths it has already followed, in reaching other worlds? I'm not entirely sure how to word this, but there are groups -- in some cases fairly large ones -- from the same world, who already know each other; I'm curious to know if that's intentional, or if you consistently practice random selection, and the repeated pulls from the same worlds of origin are simply a quirk of the technology.

...I'm not really expecting to get much information on this, but I imagine it can't hurt to ask.
