The Geth, it is said, are hollow. This is a truth. Every Quarian knows it. They do not have family or friends as we do, or know beauty or life or joy like anything living does. All they have is relentless logic, nothing else

IDK what is with me and Tali lately and these prompts, but whatever.

The room is decontaminated. The lights are low. The suit is off.
This is getting real.
Shepard can see that Tali is nervous, but about what he’s not sure. I mean, this isn’t exactly their first time at the rodeo. First time without the threat of reapers though, so that’s something. Makes everything seem a little less...urgent.
Not that he isn’t urgent.
But she’s doing something different now, something unexpected. She puts her hand to her ear and carefully disengages her translator, setting in on the bed beside them. Shepard’s eyes track the movement, before snapping back up to meet her eyes. “Tali, what are you doing?”
She takes a moment to process before speaking. “Want to,” she begins, then looks away and begins to twist her hands in thought. Her voice is softer without the translator, even if it seems like forming the words is a great difficulty. “Want to say, in your,” a pause, “in your words

"Joker, how are we doing on fuel?" Shepard asked as she walked onto the bridge.
"We're half full," he replied.
"'Half full' is not a unit of measurement, Mr. Moreau," the damn AI spoke up. "Our fuel reserves are currently at half capacity." He glared at the blue ball beside him as it stared at him. And no one was going to tell him that it didn't stare at him because it did. It was always watching.
Shepard looked at the AI's projection. "Thank you, EDI." She turned back to Joker. "Feeling optimistic today?"
"Yeah, well, Chambers keeps spreading...er, optimistic remarks," he said haltingly.
Shepard's eyebrow of doom rose. He hated that look. Always made him feel like a bug under a scope.
"Hear anything about Williams?" she asked.
And now he felt guilty as hell. "No."

Predictably, it was Joker who kept referring to the whole thing as a "shotgun wedding." Which of course meant Ashley spent most of the reception explaining to many curious relatives that no she was not pregnant. The shotgun part referred to the gift that Shepard had given to her early since Ashley had refused to have a traditional bridal shower when she could avoid it. (The one on Amaterasu filled to the brim with smirking sisters and frilly aunts was one she couldn't avoid.)
"But he's a pilot, dear," they would say. "Where will you settle down?"
Ashley, gritting her teeth and hoping the grimace would be mistaken for a smile, always answered, "Maybe we don't want to settle down."
And then Joker would come up, sneak a grab at her ass, and refer to the ceremony as a "shotgun wedding" which brought on a whole other slew of questions.
It wasn't until a week later when they were supposedly on their honeymoon cruise that Ashley looked in dawning disbelief at the tiny stick. "Joker, you bastardMore from the missing files of the pairing

The door to Shepard's cabin hissed open, and Liara stepped across the threshold, eyes still glued to her datapad.
"Shepard, I hope I'm not disturbing you, but I wondered if we might-"
A muffled snicker cut off her words and brought her eyes up. At first the dim light hid the size of the shape in the bed, how it contained more limbs that a normal human's complement. But as Liara's eyes adjusted, they grew wide at the much-too-extensive displays of skin and plating.
"By the Goddess!" She flung the datapad up in front of her face. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have... Next time I'll..." Face flaming, she turned and scurried to the door. "I should go."
"Isn't that my line?" Shepard drawled from behind her as the door release finally finished its cycle. A deep-throated turian chuckle chased Liara to the elevator.
