Stuck...

Turns out we couldn't leave the city. The highways were, hell they still are, virtual parking lots. There are just a massive amount of people trying to flee the city. Of course with so much traffic, they were stuck for hours while the gas ran out, and none of the service stations had any to sell. One of my aunts left for San Antonio yesterday ( Read more... )

Thank you. Everything turned out well. We got some pretty strong wind, but surprisingly no rain. So no flooding which would have really caused problems. The hurricane turniing northeast really spared us. Our power did go out Saturday morning and some of Sunday, and it was so hot. It was just horrible. But considering how bad Port Arthur and Beaumont got hit, we got off very easy.

Heard from the news that the Hurricane Rita had turned into a less massive one. I hope you're doing ok and be back safety.

Thank you. Everything turned out well considering the circumstances.

I think it was a category 2 when it hit land, but it did damage Port Arthur, Beaumont, Jasper. They got hit hard.
