More Wildwood: Talk about lazy

Here's how your spend your anniversary in Wildwood, NJ: A nice seafood dinner at Neil's without a reservation, which allows you to drink cocktails for 40 minutes on an empty stomach while being served by a friendly bartender who kinda looks like Will Ferrell; eat a ton of seafood; curl up in bed to watch Ultimate Fighting, take a nap, and then walk ( Read more... )

Anyone know how to wash sweat-salt stains out of your hat?

Lava soap, I kid you not. I've found it's the ultimate soap for getting *any* stain out of your clothes, no matter what the material (I used it on silk, with no damage to the fabric) or how long the stain has been there. Just rub the bar with some water into the stain for a while, until you can't see the stain anymore, then rinse. Repeat as necessary. It's awesome.

Oh an I agree with you on the naps - I think that's why continental Europeans have such nice long lunch breaks. It's been found by ergonimists that employees who get a minimum 30-minute - 1hr. nap in the middle of the work day are more productive and will work more hours, for longer. I think there's one or two companies in the U.S. that have actually employed that strategy and it's been successful, so I don't know why it hasn't caught on. :D

Sweet. I had a feeling you would know. I just bought this frakking hat, too. Now off to the Navy Pier - I'm blowing off the convention, for now.

The hardest part of coming back to "real life" was giving up my naps. We took one every day while we were away, and it was fabulous. In order of my enjoyment of them, I rank our vacation activities this way:

1. Daily afternoon naps
2. Vacation sex (it's a very close second; in fact, these two might be tied)
3. Bars open at 9am
4. Unlimited food

I can't wait for retirement! Bring on the napping!

Vacation sex has this wonderful casualness to it, since you get to do it whenever you damn well feel like it, and can spend the whole day doing it if you want. Nothing wrong with that AT ALL.
