Doing the dishes is usually rather calming for me, and gives me a sense of mild accomplishment.

Flashing vividly back to the day I wrote Rainbow's Edge is not helping much.

Could be, actually.

And there are at least two new verses to QV floating around in my brain. One about waiting (Penelope), and one for Colleen's recent experiences (which I haven't found a hook for yet).

Growing up on Long Island, I usually went to Gem Electronics or Lafayette. But sometimes there were things I couldn't get from them, or that I knew I could get cheaper on Canal Street. (Of course, I had to get an adult to drive me to any of these places.)

As for being "related somehow"... while my biological ancestry is almost entirely New England WASP, I have a "brother" - I explain it by saying "we were born into different families by mistake" - who's a nice Jewish boy from Queens, now living in Dallas. So we could be cousins or something ;-D
