Tres Gique: Weekend of Win

I mentioned a while ago in this post that Tres Gique, the band I started back in 2007, is in the process of re-inventing itself and would be getting together every month or so for regular practice sessions. We had the first one this last weekend.

I didn't know how new that bass was. I agree, it made things pull together beautifully. The stuff I heard Sunday, especially toward the end, kicked ass.

Joyce has definitely found her instrument. It's interesting that it's tuned to the same notes as a baritone uke :)

Your right; the Sunday recordings are even better than usual. I'll probably have Millennium's Dawn stuck in my head all weekend (again!), though I can't seem to make up my mind as to whether I like it better with or without the addition of the bells at the end. In any case, I definitely notice that bandish quality. If this is the first of the new practice sessions, I can't wait for the recordings a few months from now.

*grin* Not sure about the bells myself, or at least that incarnation of the bells. Possibly wants something an octave or two lower, like tubular bells.

By the time Consonance comes around I expect we'll be sounding good.
