Here in Haslett we're getting pretty frustrated with the attitude of today's OB-GYN healthcare specialists. In the '70s when she lived in Munster, Indiana, my mom saw ONE primary doctor throughout her pregnancy. If you/your wife want to discuss risks for c-sections or VBACs, I've had three of the former.

It's not uncommon to share doctors, there is one positive in that approach: if she goes the to clinic for an appt, she won't have to risk waiting up to two hours b/c her doctor had to go deliver a baby. It's happened to be me multiple times.

And the reason why they would pay more at the hospital? Easy, they have a deal with them, silly.

Yep, the hospital website lists our insurance company under its "Affiliates/Partners" link. Of course. At least you know they have no excuse if they give you any trouble with coverage.

That sounds so awesome, to be able to go through a birth center instead of a hospital, from the things I've heard from daregale about her experience in Dallas. She had a c-section, if I remember correctly, because of various factors out of her control, but she spoke very highly of the birthing center nonetheless and howmuch more supportive and welcoming they were than the hospital. Geni will remember her as the girl who was originally going to room with us Senior year.
