The story is that two old friends of her parents' were in the area for a handgun convention but had their dog with them and so couldn't stay in a condominuim in which they own a time-share, so they offered to let their pals Ralph and Randi stay here ( Read more... )

Glad you guys had a nice trip. At least the river was pretty!

Glad glad your brother-in-law was less creepy than you expected. That's always a plus!

Your wife should update her friends more frequently, I had no clue that her brother's wife was even pregnant, much less had a baby.

Also, I would be amused to hear her version of events.

Yep. Young Carter Zachary Wing might be the ugliest little bugger I've ever set eyes on, and it's pretty gross when he's allowed to smash tomatoes all over his face at the table. And I haven't figured out from which orifice of their bodies his parents retrieved the name "Carter", as he apparently lacks any ancestry of that unusual nomenclature. But his grandmother (Randi) is entirely obsessed with him. She finally figured out a way to make us talk before Geni and I left ... she was carrying him around the apartment and asked, "Do you want to talk to Uncle Michael?" After a muffled "yeah" from the kid, I found myself with a small facsimile of a human being plopped down on my knee. That was quite possibly the weirdest experience of my life!

Incidentally, did you know that it's allegedly superior to get married barefoot on the beach at sunset in Tahoe, California than to get married in a respectable place of worship with important friends and family members present? Yeah ... neither did I.

LOL I see... Just wait until you have your own.
The name of our second child has no family history either. Well, his first name at least.

Do I sense a bit of frustration here?

Frustration? Not particularly ... it was just so incredibly weird! Well, and gross, which was just, well, gross. And he took a poop in his pants right there in the living room! And the thought of me being an uncle? ..... AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
