Notes: I have to twist given prompts. It's a compulsion :)

His skin fairly thrums with sensation. It is almost frightening- Harry can taste Hermione's scent on the air and Ron is glowing with heat.

They eye him warily and he feels their hearts beat faster as he slithers with smooth, incontrovertible grace, undulating against the ground. It reverberates with the scurrying and thumping of a thousand feet across the distance.

Harry curls around the soft leather of Ron's shoe, a satisfied hiss escaping his throat. They are saying something, their voices jarring his bones almost painfully. He rears a triangular head in warning.

There is salt on Hermione's cheeks, she looks wild-eyed and tense. Harry retreats into the shadow to watch as the humans wave their . . what are those things? He flicks his tongue to test the air . . Yes, it is flesh ( ... )

*grin* I've always thought Harry might have been a better match for Slytherin, assuming it hadn't gotten labeled as the 'Everyone Evil in This House'. I think he'd make a 'good intentions' villain. ^_~ (But we're doing it for your own good! Really!).

Oh wow, this is so not what I was thinking about with "trouble communicating," but it's perfect. That's the fun of these things, isn't it?
