Lovely angst! So glad the 'judge' recognized that Rodney was John's beloved and spared him!

I couldn't kill John. And that seeing their love would make the difference seemed to be fitting :)

Thank you!

I wanted something old fashion sounding but when I looked up Betrothed it seems specific for fiances, so I just went with it and let Rodney have his dig about her being someone who shouldn't be allowed to say the word love at all.

Thank you!

Awww, this is just lovely. Very nice twist on things, I like where you took the guys (and that you gave us a happy ending too.)

It would have been too heart-breaking for Rodney to realize how much they really love each other only before he says his final goodbyes. I'm a wuss that way. And when I thought about how to save John, it seemed almost natural to have that declaration and the kiss be the thing that saves him.

Thank you :)

Well, the absence of warnings pretty much gave that away. I could have been able and added an end-of-fic warning that says "Warning: looks like death fic but isn't". But I'm glad it really seemed like a desperate situation.

Thank you!
