So, yeah, to my chagrin I just realised that in my haste to recc this on my lj I didn't actually get around to commenting. *blush*

You know that I adore this and I really can't express how moving I found it. This is tragic in the true meaning of the word, and managed to make me feel heartbroken for all three protagonists.

To use a less elegant phrase: you nailed it. This is right up there with 'Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose' and for me, it doesn't get better than that.

oh the last line made me tear up. this is very beautifully written and its a really good story but oh it broke my heart for all the missed possibilities.

I've been in angsty mode lately, but sometimes in re-watching an episode or studying over screencaps, I'll pick up on some small thing that shows me the depth of what I see between John and Rodney and it leaves me a little sad. But I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it.
