That first time we actually hear Rodney say, "John." It's so quiet you could miss it, yet so full of emotion.

He uses it in the moments when he stops thinking and speaks from the heart.

I have the feeling this will be one of many posts.
During "Rising" when Rodney asks if anyone is aware of just how many gate symbol combinations there are using that criteria and John quietly says "722", Rodney looks at John as if, "Huh. Perhaps I shouldn't just dismiss the fluffy-headed flyboy."

Yeah, that was a great scene, the way John casually throws in the "720". Though I believe that at least subconsciously he wanted to show Rodney that he's not just a stupid military flyboy. And it worked!

I have a fondness for Echoes. The whale watching date! I love that John gets the idea for the date and is so excited, and Rodney is like "What? What?" and just goes along! And then of course the scene where John is pulling Rodney's metaphorical pigtails to get his attention, insulting Celine Dion, Rodney's intelligence, and then resorting to "Meredith."

Rodney's face when he says, "You let John fly that jumper?" meaning into the hive ship. Oh, Rodney ♥

Plus, Rodney's utter jealous in Sanctuary. I rewatched that episode, and Rodney goes from disgruntlement over the idea of religion to outright DISLIKE when John gets all moony-eyed.

The scene in Intruder where John and Rodney think they are about to die, so they turn to stare into each other's eyes. And Grace Under Pressure, of course, where John says, "Hey, buddy." God, his *tone* gets me every time.

In Irresistible, when Rodney says Ronon held him against the wall - John's head *snaps* up, like "WHAT?"

Rodney in Common Ground, when John is being fed on. His face is so upset and ( ... )

John teasing Rodney in the infirmary in Echoes was adorable.

And yes to all the others. There are so many great moments between them throughout the years!

YES. I've been thinking of making a series of gifs to post over at tumblr.

Usually there's at least one moment per episode that makes me smile. SUCH BOYS ♥

I don't do much on tumblr, but I have subscribed (or whatever you call it) to the mcshep-everyday account (or whatever you call that) and your name frequently pops up *g*

I also need to start making screenshots for the Picspam. I have the Blurays of the show now, so I can get maximum quality of all the McShep goodness.

There's a moment in "The Long Goodbye" when Thelan is trying to convince Teyla to let him go. He says, "(John) cares for you more than you know."

For some reason, they cut to Rodney in the control room, and he looks just crushed. That, right there, that look on Rodney's face, says everything to me.

Yes, that was a peculiar choice by the director. Don't worry, Rodney. John cares for you more than you know too and in a different way.

I love in the Defiant one when John yells something like "This is why parents get other people to teach their kids to drive!" and Rodney's like "I'm both insulted and touched by that"

And I admit to watching the Last Man OVER AND OVER AND OVER just to watch John watch Rodney. In particular when John is like "If I'm in the future then that means that you're...."

and Rodney's like "Dead. Dead and buried."

And John's face. Oh, JFlan, you say so much when you say so little!

Joe's interpretation of John makes it so easy to see John as being in love with Rodney.
