Browser issue

I wanted to share something I figured out with any other Mac users out there.

I've always had great difficulty with the_cephalopod's site: it makes the Safari browser freeze up every single time I try to go there, whether the post is short or long. I've tried disabling my firewall temporarily, and coming from a paid LJ account instead of a free one, without any improvement.

I really want to read Dumbstruck though, and just now I caved in and installed Firefox, which totally worked to get to the_cephalopod's page. Yay!

I know Firefox is an excellent browser (I use it at work) but I have an irrational affection for Safari and have always preferred it when working from my Mac. I guess I'll have to rethink that!

Hey, thank you so much for this! It's a *really* odd issue, though, because I'm also a Mac user and use Safari on my LJ with no problems at all! However, I do also have Firefox installed because I have found that Safari does tend not to work with some sites. I have no idea why this happens and your problem using Safari to view my LJ specifically has me completely stumped! Anyway, I'm glad you found a solution (and cared enough to do so!) and really hope you enjoy the story now that you can actually see it! cep xxx
