How long have you been creating fan art or writing fan fiction?
Let’s say 2006. I’ve been in SGA since the beginning. My first foray into posting anything outside my journal was some artwork for the parrish_lorne challenges. It was a new community for a pairing I still love to this day. Best yet, it was a way to contribute without writing. Something I was sure I had no ability for and wouldn’t dream of attempting. Yes, there are a few drawings out there prior to 2006 that were created as gifts for stories I loved. Still love.
What drew you into fandom in the first place?
It would be easier to say, What didn’t? Moth to flame, baby. Even so, it took me some time to get out of lurkdom.

The sheer, unabashed creativity of fandom has to be somewhere in the top of that list. It’s so much more than that though. There’s a level of maturity here that includes, kindness, generosity, a sense of humor and a sheer richness of talent. How can you not want to be here?
Are you a fandom monogamist or do you participate in other fandoms? Which ones?
Oh dear. I’d have to say I share more than a little bit of my love with brendan_vincent. Of course that wouldn’t have happened if Joe Flanigan wasn’t such a sexy bastard. Or if I hadn’t been introduced to his other characters via John Sheppard. I seem to have an inability to pair John with anyone but Rodney but I can make this pairing work. Whoo boy, can I. Why yes, Dr. Freud, it is masturbation- mirror kink. How did you know?

This is an evil question because it cannot be fully answered without copious chapters. *weeps*
For now, let’s go with how John and Rodney are two people who have been around the block a time or two. If one of them gets knocked down, then the other one is going to be right there to pick him up. Because they get each other.
They might both be misfits in what other people expect of them but John and Rodney fill each other's empty places. I believe they’re wise enough at this stage in their lives to recognize the value of what they have together. I’ve seen a lot of fandom pairings, but never have I seen a pairing where this is so true.
Why did you decide to participate in McShep Match?
Temporary insanity. Can I go back to my nice, safe lurking now?
And how did you choose Team Work/Play?
danceswithgary batted her eyelashes at me. I also think Play fits my personality a bit better; still, it’s a tricky thing with John and Rodney. So often, work is play for these two whether it’s solving an equation or blowing something up.

Oh heavens, I don’t have a good answer to that. There’s a fic tag on my lj and there’s my author tag on mckay_sheppard and mcsheplets. I’ve - very slowly - started to put some fic up on AO3.
It just never crossed my mind that anyone would be that interested in reading anything I wrote, so I haven’t tried organizing it until recently. The exception is the Sensual Magic ‘verse that I did in pieces for cliche_bingo I had to keep that organized or lose my mind.

It has to be Sensual Magic. Or the one where they are laundry appliances....
No, no, it's the S. Magic 'verse. Partly because it did turn into an entire 'verse, partly because John makes one hell of a sexy vampire but mostly because I created a mythology that found a way to have John and Rodney be together forever without Rodney ever being turned.

1) What episode from one of your favorite shows (other than SGA, of course ;) would you love to have seen translated into a SGA episode, and why (or how would the episode have played out--briefly explain)?
Go as random as you'd like, I'm not looking for it to necessarily be possible ;)
This is a tough one for me to answer. I canceled my cable when they took SGA off the air. I simply cannot recall enough of any episode from any show from over a year ago that impressed me enough to remember, let alone translate into an SGA episode. I’m sorry.
2) How did Rodney tell Jeannie about him and John? Did he tell Sam Carter, too?
I think they were visiting Jeannie and Rodney simply forgot and kissed John. It was just a quick brush of his lips on John’s mouth. A. hello, good morning, coffee’s ready kiss, like he’s done a hundred times, only this time it was in front of his sister.
Rodney keeps promising John he’ll tell Sam once DADT isn’t an issue. He’ll be too late of course. Sam was one of the first people Jeannie told.
