Oh, that Starfleet manip is fantastic!

Are there any pet peeves you have regarding manipping? Like, when you see an artist who throws up a badly-manipped piece, are you all Get out of my fandom you're making us look bad? Or, alternatively--what makes a picture badly-manipped? Because I can look at a piece and go, OK, I don't like that, but I couldn't tell you why. (I hope my questions made sense?)

Thank you!

Get out of my fandom you're making us look bad?
That happens to me a lot actually, although not in SGA fandom. I have many, many pet peeves.

Off the top of my head:
-obviously porn star/body builder bodies (for a character that doesn't have one)
-head is at an angle that is physically impossible to the body
-not well-blended, ie you can easily see where you've cut-and-pasted
-different resolutions between body and head

It really bothers me because it seems like the artist didn't put a lot of effort into it. I try to keep in mind that my first attempts were pretty awful too, but there's a big difference between "I'm trying to get the hang of this" and "This is a hot photo! It can only be better if I add [character's] head there!"

That's one of the reasons I shy away from pornographic or even shirtless manips, because then you have all that extra stuff to worry about, like body hair (or lack of it), muscles, and abs, and GAH. Too much work for me :P

Hope that answered your questions, and thanks for taking the time to

I like your Starfleet John manip, too. It blends together beautifully.

*nods* The wrong body type is something that can throw me with manips. My brain just won't let me accept the image if the body looks too different, and height & proportions can be a factor, as well as build. Colour mismatch between elements, is something I tend to notice, too.

Yay! Thank for answering the interview questions! :) I see what you mean by getting into a TV-fandom being weird. It's just so much more different (and difficult =-=") to draw.

It's really weird, I always need a bit of practice time when switching between drawing for anime and real people fandoms.
