Such a long, satisfying read! What an excellent balance of humor and romance and terror-for-their lives, plus drunken hugging!

All right! This is what I've been jonesing for for months, what I keep reading stories and hoping to get even 2% of what is in this. Rodney's vulnerabilities and insecurities are real but they're also exacerbated by John's emotional reticence and his own flaws. All the supporting characters shine as well, but I was most taken with Sam in this. She's seldom used to such good effect in SGA fic and the glimpse of her own life enhanced her three dimensionality: I found myself thinking how lonely she must have been during those two years, with the person she loved and her dearest friends back on Earth.

My throat went sort of tight and achey during that last scene outside John's quarters, when the door was locked. John needed to be socked for not getting how that would read to Rodney.

This is one I'll be rereading.

This long, well written, satisfying read is one of the top 20 SGA fics EVER written.
Characterisations are superb, here.
Its a piece of fiction to savour, to read and re-read.

Look forward to reading your other work.
