Interview questions
1. What was your first fandom?
Buffy. At least as far as reading fanfic. Yes, I was reading het. However, SGA gets top billing for the first fandom that made me go out, get a livejournal account, and heave my ass out of lurkdom.
2. How did you get into writing fanfic/creating fanart?
Love. Sheer overwhelming love for SGA. It gave me the courage to risk the utter embarrassment of falling on my face. Even so, that might not have been enough. This is a fandom like no other. It was its warm, welcoming enthusiasm that really made it possible.
3. Is SGA your main squeeze, or are you poly-fandom-ous?
Very much my main squeeze. Oh, I read in other fandoms from time to time, but they don't own me like Atlantis does.
4. What makes John and Rodney such an inspiring couple for you?
They've both been around the block a few times, have a few scars, and made some big mistakes. They're both misfits in their own way and understand each other remarkably well. I believe, in their eyes, they are each other's hero.
5. Who's your favorite, John or Rodney (or both)? How come?
This is a nearly impossible question. For me, it's the combination of the two together that works. Throw in some team and I'm even happier. If pressed, I'd say I'm a little more Rodney's girl than John's but, wow, that's a blade thin edge.

6. Where can people find more of your work (McShep or otherwise)?
AO3. Various author tags on different communities. My
Fic tag on my LJ. I didn't occur to me for the longest time that anyone might want to look up something I'd written so it's a bit scattered.
7. Pick a piece/story of yours that stands out for you. Give us links and tell us why!
This is a harder question than I expected it to be. I love them as
laundry appliances for the sheer crack of it all. I love this look at John in
Expected Pleasures and
The Providence of Stars has to go on the list as the mpreg story that took over my brain.
8. Finish this sentence: John and Rodney walk into a bar...
…giddy with relief that they survived. Both are more than ready to relax and celebrate. They toast Woolsey, Ronon, Teyla and give a sloppy, sad toast to Elizabeth and Ford. Carson gets two. They toast puddlejumpers and O'Neill. They last thing they do is toast each other with respect, for a job well done.
When John tips the last of the N'lar wine into Rodney's cup a look passes between them.
There's no wine left for their private toast so they find another way. John presses his lips to Rodney's eyelids, gently and full of sweet intent. Rodney returns the favor by sucking on every finger of John's left hand. He does it slow and hot, letting his tongue make the promises for him. By the time Rodney's reaches for John's other hand, John's forgotten every damn thing he wanted to say.
Nevertheless, even without words it's a very good toast indeed.
9. What question do you wish we'd asked?
Storyteller or writer?
In all honesty, I'm a storyteller not a writer. I have years of oral storytelling but scant few of putting words down to be read by someone else. Frankly, it scares the bejeezus out of me.
vida_boheme asked
Which of your stories has surprised you the most? Something you never imagined yourself writing; something that unexpectedly became a series, or something that was such a nightmare you almost abandoned it - but it turned out really well?
Sensual Magic Wooboy. That was meant to be a 500 word one-off. Hit the requirement for a bingo square? Sure. Easy peasy. Oh man, did I ever get that wrong. I had no idea what I was getting into and totally unprepared. Yet, it turned out - really well. Who knew?
cjoelle asked
Is there any story you wrote for which you really want a sequel, but haven't had time to write one ?
There are still stories in the Sensual Magic 'verse I'd like to write and, of course,
Lornes_diner is wide open for anything to happen in.
goddess47 asked
What was your first fan fiction story? What made you start writing?
I came very late into writing. My first fanfic was the story where
John and Rodney are nebulas. Yes. I wrote astrophysics porn. But, I didn't post it anywhere but my own LJ. There's a hefty dose of McShep comment porn throughout my LJ as well. What? A girl has to have a hobby…
Anyway, as time passed, fewer and fewer McShep stories were being posted to the
sga_newsletter and
sga_noticeboard. I felt like I should at least try to contribute. So, I have little offerings, here and there.
gottalovev asked
what works for you, writing wise? writing a bit every day? massive frantic writing for a couple of weeks then a drought? goes with the bunnies?
I do best with stories if make myself write something every day. If inspiration hits and I can sit down and write it's wonderful but that doesn't happen all that often.
Ah, bunnies. They look so fluffy and innocent but I'm starting to think they're the tool of the devil. I wish they could be trained to cough up the whole piece of the story instead of just fascinating bits.
