Whether that means she's joined the club for honest reasons remains to be seen. "Sometimes she's sincere and sometimes she's not," Lynch says. "She's ( Read more... )

Sing doesn't really scream "dance number" to me.

This is very true. TBH, neither of those guesses make much sense to me. Teenagers would have to be almost rewritten to be airable (not putting that past them). Teenagers DOES make sense given Sue's character. Na Na Na maybe?

Na Na would make a lot more sense in terms of a performance, but I think that is one of their least commercially successful songs? I haven't watched the show in the while so I can't really draw my opinion on the context of the character for song choice, but it seems to me that show makes it a point to do songs that are widely more popular.

Yeah, I don't know how they choose songs or how they are liscensed out, tbqh. Na Na Na is probably their least successful single, but it's also one of their most recent and highly visible (same with Sing). From what I remember from watching Glee in the first season, they did a lot of very easily recognizable songs but I do recall reading that they would often do songs that are given royalty free as well. I don't know how much has changed since then as I stopped watching quite some time ago.

I'm very curious though! I'll probably tune in to see it.

Teenagers could potentially be hilarious, but like I said in another post they would have to edit the bulk of the lyrics. MTV censored the crap out of the song when they'd play the video, I can only imagine what FOX would do to it.

There's often radio versions or censored versions of songs that are already written/recorded. It's not that big of a hurdle to jump over.

The ones I've heard for Teenagers just bleep out whole sections of song though, they didn't replace any of the lyrics.

But it doesn't take a lot of effort to replace shit with crap.

I think that Glee has so many problems and unfortunate implications involving race, gender and sexual orientation going on that I can't really get excited about this. :/

Not to mention religion (or lack thereof). The way they handled atheism was so incredibly offensive to me

Oh, absolutely! I forgot to include that. Yes, that was incredibly offensive and I couldn't believe that they actually did that.

The show pretends to be so open minded but it always ends up being pretty offensive. Everything has to be one giant stereotype.

I agree Teenagers would be hilarious for Sue, but the censoring would ruin the effect.

Sing makes sense - they could go to town making it into a show choir song.

(But dance? D: Idk.)

I would love to hear them cover Cancer, though. I feel like Kurt's voice on it would make me bawl.

Reading the whole article, it seems to me the episode with MCR will be one 'after' the Super Bowl, as it says "in an upcoming episode" and all that.

I would think Helene (for an old song) or Planetary (GO!) would be better choices for a dance number.

Reading it over, I think you're right. TBH, I wasn't really interested in the whole article, I don't care about Glee. /o\

*lol* Because I have a thing for geeky boys I tuned in to the first show, but it only took 10 minutes for me to realize they weren't 'my' kind of geeky boys. But, yeah, would have been nice if it was the Super Bowl ep.
