Conflicting reports confuse me. @_@ I mean, for KROQ the official reviews and the fan ones seem to say they were on fire last night, and now we're hearing confusing shit about tonight, too. XD
It pretty much always depends on what you are hearing/seeing as individuals because each spot you'll hear/see something different and you might be getting a bad feed from your spot. Pretty sure the band is just fine, if possibly tired and/or sick.
Hey now! I'm not a troll. If you're talking about me, that is. There isn't anything that "this is about." This is a concert post, where we are sharing our observations, reflections, etc. I just shared a little of mine. It is reassuring to hear that others didn't feel the same.
I am watching the vids now, and what I felt from him while I was there is definitely muted, or less, on video. So that is a good thing. But I even if I have a different opinion than others on what he was like there last night, (and I felt very strongly about it) I am not a troll. I have written carefully. I am an actual fan who saw a very different live Gerard a few weeks ago in LA. My opinion is just an opinion, and is vastly in the minority (again that bodes well for the band). But I don't appreciate the trolling label. I really don't.
fwiw, i thought gerard sounded pretty great, considering. there was a pretty badly cracked note in 'sing', but shit like that happens. his voice could use a few days off, sure, but i thought he held it together really well (worlds better than what the kroq show sounded like via ustream).
and they all looked like they were having a great time, lots of enthusiasm and shared smiles. and one point ray even walked over to frank and gave him a thumbs up and huge grin.
as for the late start, i assumed technical difficulties since they start with the 'look alive' track, or they simply weren't done setting up (a tech was still fiddling with mikey's bass). nothing to be concerned about. same with the intro to cancer. i don't think it was any longer than it usually is, and if there was a delay, it was because (as mentioned above) gerard was trying to get his jacket on and HAVING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES LOLL so he finally abandoned it with a shrug. it actually was kind of hilarious.
