I know who will win in our boroughtkirkMay 4 2006, 01:50:41 UTC
Bloody Ashley Howells. I had the choice of the winner, (Labour) a kid with no life experience (Conservative) some LibDem I've never heard of *grin* and UKIP, which I agree with Dave Cameron - just racists bundled another way.
I voted for the unknown LibDem. I grew up in Paddy Ashdown's back yard so I'm comfortable with the yellows ;)

I can never remember who's going to win here. Thing is, we're the buckle of the stockbroker belt (hence a lot of Tories of the "bugger you Jack" sort), but with a couple of real sink estates (hence plenty of "I vote Labour cos I don't wanna work" idiocy from the chavs). The only thing you can be sure of is Ming's lot don't get a look-in

Funnily enough, the only ones I've seen around here are the Conservatives. Situation reversed though, with the campaigners all looking to be in their sixties, and the actual candidate is a student (!) who can't be more than 22. How the hell can I possibly have any trust in the judgement of someone who has no life experience whatsoever?
St Davids (my ward) seems to be firmly Lib Dem for some obscure reason (the Exeter council as a whole is firmly Labour). At least that means the Tories aren't going to get in either way... I don't think the Loonies are even standing here.
Really, what I want is to vote in the general elections (but I'm not allowed to). Exeter's MP is Ben Bradshaw (Labour). Better (marginally) than having a Tory MP, if you ask me, but unfortunately he's a hard-line Blairite with a voting record to reflect that - strongly supports the Iraq war, anti-terror laws, ID cards, you name it.
Ben Bradshaw is one of many of that lot I would LOVE to plant my boot up the backside of. There's just something so appealing about the prospect of kicking a politician in the head...
I hope that boot has plenty of spikes, or at the very least a steel toecap? Make up your mind though - do you want to kick him in the head or in the arse? Not that it makes much difference, seeing as roughly the same thing comes out of both ends.
Anyway, I'm off to vote in an hour or so... we'll see how this one goes.
We only have two candidates in our ward.breeze_blockMay 4 2006, 03:54:51 UTC
Labour and Tory. And as there is no way I can bring myself to vote for either of these cunts I am exercising my right to vote for "none of the above" this time.
Gods help any party officials knocking on my door and asking why I haven't voted. *hammers six-inch nails through old pool cue butt*
