Movie: X-Files: I want to Believe.  Solid, workmanlike stuff.  Duchovny needed to work harder but people have said that for years.

I thought the whole film was really really good. But not 'conspiracy and aliens' which is what it seems the world wanted.

Personally I really liked the 'early' X files stuff, and that just nicely carried that across. Pity it didn't do well.

I remember an episode that's stayed with me for years - serial killer, they track him (I think) down to this village in the sticks, he goes into a cocoon thing in some caves and comes back out a woman (or was it the other way round) - turns out the whole village are aliens or something and run away just in time for the cavalry to arrive and find zip....More than that I do not remember, but it was very spooky. I quite liked the X-Files but not enough to call myself a fan and not enought to go see the film.

Teh serial killer/supernatural stuff was always more satisfying than the "alien" stuff.. I think because it ties into our "ghost sotries" psyche where we are quite willing to believe that ther are indeed "things that go bump in the night". And of course Serial Killers are always morbidly interesting

I kind of imagined a big hippoptamus in the back of the cab, giving directions...
