It's also one of your strengths. Avoiding confrontation is not only self-preservation, but it's preservation of others as well, especially when you ARE strong enough to beat the pulp out of them.
Unfortunately, avoiding confrontation also breeds a miscommunication of sorts. If you're not willing to stress how upset you are about something in order to avoid confrontation, then nothing will stop the action that is upsetting you. Or someone will accuse you of blowing up for no reason when you finally do, even though YOU know it's been building up inside for months.
Shannon, it's just a matter of finding a fine balance. That's all it takes to make your self-preservation look more like what it is and less like passive-aggressive tendencies. However, finding a fine balance is much easier said than done. Good luck, man.
umm - i have a feeling that this came from my responce to your last post... i hope it didnt make you uncomfortable... i am passive aggressive too - and yes, i hate conferntation - so i do what i can to avoid it, even if it is holding my tougne until i explode... its not a bad thing... just dangerous for our sanity...
