It had been a serious toss up between a Stormtrooper and Braveheart, and Jack had never really been good at making decisions. It was why he had accidentally ended up dating two girls once before he got sick, and earned a thump in the face for it, too.

In the end, he just decided to kill two birds with one stone and create a mash-up. It worked, until he could hardly breathe about ten minutes after arriving to the dance and was now just walking around with the helmet under his head and probably a serious case of helmet hair. The dance had kicked off well, and because he had no intentions of dancing, he was now sat at one of the tables nursing a large glass of coke and watching everyone else dance and/or arrive. Not even there an hour and he was already bored. This music seriously sucked and all the couples around hand-in-hand was sort of depressing.

Making your way through a crowded gym full of dancing teens was always difficult but the usage of a long staff always helped. Lucil used her costume's large accessory to move people slightly out of her way, making her own mini path through-out the crowd.

She gazed over a few tables, idly taking in the various people in different costumes. No. No. Too tall, too short, too buff, not lean enough....that's a girl. Ahah! The blonde smirked to herself as she spotted her friend lounging at a table by himself, nursing some drink as his stormtrooper helmet lay unworn upon the table in front of him. "Huh, must've gotten hot in all the plastics and wool scottish-ness." Lucil made her way around some more crowded tables and came up behind Jack. Her staff was rised and she poked his armor clad shoulder a few times with an end. "Mind if I relax her with you trooper?"

Jack held his glass up to her in a toast before taking a mouthful of it. "What are you dressed as? She-Ra?" He pointed at the staff. "See, I say a giant phallus would have been way more fun."

He shifted over to the next seat so she could sit down, sticking his fingers into his drink to try and fish an ice cube out of it. It was a bit of a battle, but he eventually got one out and rubbed it over the back of his neck and throat to try and cool down a little. "How much do I need to pay the little music fairies to play some good songs. I seriously heard freaking MMMBop ten minutes ago."

"Yeah, you would think a giant phallus would be fun. I sometimes wonder on your sexuality by the way." Her eyes rolled. "And She-Ra? Are you serious? Here I thought you were cultured. I'm Gabrielle, traveling warrior bard and faithful partner to Xena the warrior princess," Lucil plopped herself into the newly made chair beside Jack and waved her hand behind her. "Who just so happens to be off flirting somewhere."

The blonde looked into the general direction of the dj, some guy who looked like he was enjoying his view down girl's costumes more than the actual music he was supposed to be playing well. She glanced back at Jack. "We could always pursude him. I'm sure a five and a gander at my goodies would get the perv in a generous mood. What do you say?" Lucil nodded into the direction of the dance floor. "Pursuasion and then a dance?"

Breanah walked into the gym and put her fedora on, pushing hair off of her shoulders. She adjusted her dress and headed moved around the perimeter of the gym, looking for a somewhat familiar face. She stopped at the punch bowl and looked down in it, wondering if someone had bothered to tamper with it or not. Deciding against finding out for herself, Breanah moved on, stopping to chat with a couple of her classmates as more people entered. Breanah leaned against one of the padded walls and pulled her fedora toward her eyes as the music changed to a new song.

She weaved in and out of closely knit groups, cursing under her breath about her lack of thought over leaving her staff with Jack. "Joy of joys, I could've used that damn thing to part the pubescent sea." Lucil grumbled as she ran into someone and pushed them back into their mini-moshing group. Her hands adjusted her skirt upon finally reaching the end of the long snack and punch table. Ending up beside Frankenteen himself, the girl quickly just grabbed one of the pre-poured cups of punch set out as Finn continued to look very hard at the bowls of chocolate bars.

Lucil made her way away from the boy with a small look, walking along the wall to avoid too many people. Looking around, the blonde almost didn't notice the girl before her until shoes came into her peripherals. Her body jolted to a stop, sloshing her punch a bit, as her attention moved to fall upon the girl she'd almost tackled. A grin broke out on her features. "Hey! Well, well, well, if it isn't my veggie tales, fish paintin' party pal. How are you this evening Breanah?"

Breanah looked up as a drop of the punch landed on her foot. She smiled at Lucil and pulled her feet in slightly, so not to almost trip another person. "I am okay for the time being. How about you pimp-my-turtle?" she asked. "Aside from me almost tripping you?" Breanah straightened up and looked over Lucil's costume, putting a finger to her mouth to think. "Your costume is way familiar"

Her hand gestured to her body with a grin. "I am the warrior bard Gabrielle, side-kick and total bestie of Xena the warrior princess." The blonde shifted a bit and leaned against the wall beside the brunette with a smile. "And I'm doing pretty well. Sorry about almost tripping on you though, my apologies." Lucil ran a hand through her hair sheepishly before shifting a bit in her boots.

She took a sip from her punch then nodded towards the crowd as she gulped the sugary liquid. "Are you here alone again? Or you waiting?"

Lucil gave the guy at the ticket table a friendly smile after she and Ferrari paid their entrance fee before she followed her friend into the dark decorated music pumping gym. Never one to toot her own horn, the blonde was rather proud of the costumes she and Ferrari had been able to come up with this year. The pair had recently found out about their shared love of 90's television and, after freaking out about a certain show of wandering warriors, their paired costumes were totally picked for the year. Ferrari Sinclaire and Lucil Montoya easily made their way around the gym with their armor and weapons in hand, Xena the warrior princess and Gabrielle the warrior bard had arrived.

Lucil rested her staff on her shoulder and shot Ferrari a smirk as there were quite a few eyes openly staring at them. "Wow. You were right, Xena, people are shocked we remembered stuff from that long ago." She spoke loudly over the music. The teen looked around the gym to look for people she knew and to check out who actually used their imaginations this ( ... )

Ferrari winked at a particular pair as they stared, obviously confused by what or who they were supposed to be as they entered the dingy gym. She turned to her partner and chuckled. "You kidding? No one in Lima besides you and I would appreciate such a cult classic." She twirled the steel chakram on her finger before tucking it under her arm. "It shouldn't matter anyway, dear, you look hot as a bard." she chuckled.

She blinked and looked around the darkly-lit room and spotted the familiar, hulking form of Finn Hudson. She offered him a wave before she caught sight of the angel, semi-literally, at his side. Ferrari gaped for a moment before her face turned red and she had to turn away with a clear of her throat. "Well, let's enjoy this dance while we can, I suppose." she shrugged and tried to offer a smile to her friend, which turned out slightly lopsided.

"Oh I know, I'm a smokin' bard." Her gaze looked past Ferrari's leather clad form to the pair standing not too far from them. Fin Hudson, quarter back, and one Quinn Fabray, head Cheerio and Blossom of the mighty PPG of McKinley, stood watching the action around them. Lucil's eyes flicked from the "angelic" Quinn back to Ferrari, Warrior Princess, a couple of times before returning the smile with one of her own. "Enjoy the dance indeed."

Lucil let her left hand hold her staff idly at her side as she reached into Ferrari's body and pulled her into a small hug with her right arm. "You go check out what's going on in Cheerio heaven Fer, I'll see you around. Gotta go see if I can find Jackson, The Scottish Stormtrooper, around here." She pulled away from her friend and costumed partner with a grin as her heart didn't completely share the outward emotion. "You better save a dance for me." A chuckle bubbled from her lips as her left arm rested her staff on her shoulder again before turning from the brunette. "See you later Princess."

Ferrari played absentmindedly with her fake Xena weapon and tried in vain to look anywhere but at the blonde angel across the room. Instead, she focused on the blonde at her side; her Gabrielle. She smiled absently at Lucil, not even registering her words until the girl was picking her way through the crowd without her. Bewildered, Ferrari blinked a couple times, frowned, and then turned to wander her way through the party. She'd never, ever been a fan of school dances, but Halloween was one of her favorite holidays because she loved to see what crazy things she could dress up as. Of course, she was oh-so-original compared to some of the slutty outfits most girls chose. She appreciated the holiday for what it was; and that wasn't to see who could wear the least and get away with it ( ... )

As usual, it was a little later in the proceedings before Kurt put in an appearance to the Halloween dance. Not only had he decided to dress as an angel, he had gone all out in the process. If he was going to make an obnoxious and smug point, he was going to do it loudly and proudly. Despite his week hovering somewhere in a depressive, post hangover funk, he decided that there was no freaking way Quinn Fabray was going to make him feel crappy about who or what he was. If he was going to offend her overly delicate sensibilities, then she could get repetitive strain injury from all the crossing for all he cared ( ... )

Proudly striding onto the scene with her right hand man, Mercedes Jones had no problem flaunting her stuff and really showing off some attitude as Mama Morton . They shared a firm high five when Kurt and soon after, herself, caught sight of Quinn Fabray wearing the same type of costume as Kurt himself. Though, if the dark girl could be frank, the Hummel boy worked the look, miss Fabray looked as if she was ready to strike someone down if spoken to or even just looked at the wrong way. Maybe she was an angel of death? Mercedes figured it'd be best to stay on her toes when she approaches the girl.

She kept her pace with Kurt, her left hand idly playing with her long feather fan as he dress flapped at her ankles. Her gaze moved over the crowd a couple of times before looking to the angel at her side. "You see him around here Gabe?" Earlier she'd taken to calling him the angel Gabriel and figured it would be fiting on their mission for information.

Kurt was analysing the whole scene, taking in who was there and who like total fashion flops. Oh hell, even for Halloween, people had failed miserably and he felt terrible for them. Who came as Tigger to a high school Halloween dance? Right now, he was feeling about confident as he could be, even if there was a niggle of nervousness in his gut. It was like he was waiting to be attacked all over again. A week of being in the firing line, and it had become exhausting.

"Mercedes, sweetheart, you look so amazing in that costume that I've decided if neither of us fall madly in love by the time we hit thirty, we should just marry each other," he joked with a smirk and as soon as the words were out of his mouth, he saw Sam arrive and nearly lost his footing. He turned his back on the door, clearing his throat with a small frown. Everyone kept telling him to talk to Sam, but after a week of not even crossing paths, Kurt really lost his nerve. He couldn't do it. He couldn't.

A smile spread over her features as she reached her feather fan over and tapped Kurt's white clad shoulder. "I'm all for that idea Kurt, baby. For the possible future reference, we'd have a fabulously amazing wedding," Mercedes glanced at the entrance as her date for the night turned away from it. Her brow scrunched up a bit.

"You take a breather and look around okay? Do what you think's right. I'll get us somethin' to drink." Her dark hand took one of his own and gave it a tight squeeze. "Be back in two shakes." Mercedes turned her plump body from her bestie and made her way towards the snack table as swiftly as she could.

Sam knew he had to keep going to these things to get noticed. To make friends, to be popular. It all worked hand in hand. He was anxious though. He knew Kurt would be there and yes, he'd enjoyed kissing the other boy but he was still trying to convince himself that he wasn't into guys. He couldn't afford to be into guys; he saw how people treated Kurt. He didn't want that for himself.

He wore a traditional style costume and looked round as he entered. He smiled at familiar faces, waved at a handful and tried to spot the drinks. He knew it would all be strictly non alcohol and he was silently thankful for that.

Jack had been looking over the drink options. Coke... or punch. There was a 99% chance the punch was spike too, or had been spat in, so he really wasn't going there. Coke was so average. Couldn't there at least be something with a bendy straw or maybe a little umbrella? Was a bit of lemon too much to ask? Of course, he might risk Lucil accushing him of being gay again, but a straight guy could like little umbrellas, damnit!

With a sigh, he was reaching for another can of coke when a new face came up behind him. Jack hadn't met him yet, but he knew he was the new dude on the football team. New kids always got gossiped about. The rumour that he was Justin Biebers fraternal twin, however, was just downright freaky. "Hey," he greeted the guy with a smile and then held his hand out. "I'm Jack. Welcome to McKinley, dude."

Sam was leaning towards the table to get a coke - he'd learnt his lesson about punch and didn't want to repeat his mistake - when he saw a smile and hand being extended towards him. Returning the smile, Sam took his hand to give it a shake - not too firm to come across as trying too hard, but firm enough.

"Thanks, man. I'm Sam."

"Nice to meet you, Sam. Good chocie avoiding the punch. You never quite know if that is fruit floating in it or not. By the end of the night, it'll end up a Glee facial anyway."

Jack paused when he said that and raised his eyebrows. "And considering I now am one, that shouldn't have sounded as blase as it just came out," he realised. "Ach, well. Stormtrooper is plastic and kilt is resilient. I'll live," he said with a shrug, gesturing to his costume.
