A quick jont to her locker allowed Mercedes to gather her thoughts on Kurt's attitude the past week. Of course he was still as fabu as ever and did offer quips here and there on certain topics but he lacked a certain luster. Somethin' was up and Mercedes Jones was going to get to the bottom of it. The african american girl grabbed the last of the books she needed and shoved them into her side bag, closing her locker door firmly and moving back towards the Glee room she knew Kurt Hummel would still be lounging in.
During the rehersal, the boy hadn't been very into much of anything that was going on around him, whether it be the actual songs themselves or yet another one of Mr. Schue's speeches and that was slightly scary. He always had something to say and be passionate about during Glee. The otherwise always messed with the voluptuous teen. She had obiviously heard a bit about what went down last weekend, yet another reason to be even more angry with her father for wanting to "bond" yet again at a terrible time, and needed to talk to

Kurt's tongue darted out to wet his lips and he reached up to push his hair back, a habit he had harboured for many years. He could say that Quinn getting on his back about going to hell was what was bothering him, but at the end of the day, he was used to the Queen Bee getting on her high horse. It was just knew for her to be doing it in his face. In fact, the more she glared at him from across halls and pointedly crossed herself in front of him, the more desire he had to be as far away from her as possible. And for some reason, every time Kurt managed to cop a glimpse of Sam in the distance, he suddenly got engulfed by a pack of Cheerios so Kurt wouldn't have a hope of getting near him. All Kurt wanted to do was ask him if he was okay... and apologise if he really had attacked him and scarred him for life.
He glanced briefly at Mercedes. "I thought all first kisses were supposed to be memorable," he commented. "Or is that just a straight thing?"
Her eyes narrowed a bit at the question as she thought of an appropriate answer. "That's no straight thing, it's a human thing," Mercedes' hands gesutured a bit in the air. "First kisses are always memorable, but that doesn't always mean in a good way,"
The girl turned to look at her friend completely. "It all depends on what goes down between the kissers and, well, the busy bodies." She scoffed angrily. "And Fabray? Was a busy body. You shouldn't let her get to you Kurt. She's just being stupid and all up on her high horse for no reason."
Kurt scrunched his face up in a mix of disgust, annoyance, and probably a thread of hurt he was really trying to mask. What Quinn had said really got to him, and he hated himself for that. "I... got inelegantly intoxicated at the party. I don't even remember how. I kissed someone. I think. At least, that's the hazy memory I have. Now I have freaking Quinn Fabray in my face about going to hell and sinning because apparently I'm a monster and a predator who attacked this person. And what if I did, 'Cedes? I can't remember it clearly, so what if I did?"
"Either way, it doesn't matter. She had her Cheerios bodyguards at work and whatever she says is going to be gospel, anyway. It's irrelevant what happened because whatever Quinn said happened will be what everyone else believes. I can't even stand next to another guy right now without getting horrified looks." He shook his head and rubbed his hand over his face. "I'm bailing on the Halloween dance."
