In a way its frightening the rate at which UK seems to be passing regressive laws which impinge on personal freedom.... And thanks for the info about the video. I am very eager to watch it now!

And you're right, it is worrying the kind of legislation that the British government is passing in recent times or tried to pass. Though truth be told one of the fascinating things I have learnt in my law course this year is how illiberal the British constitution actually is in theory. In reality it's liberal practices stem more from constitutional conventions that have developed over time rather than through legislation passed by the government - a situation very unlike most other major global democracies.
