The tentative dates for my (family's) Dubai Trip are the following: Wednesday 21 December - Sunday 25 December.

Any of you who will be around, lemme know, I'd love to go out for dinner, shisha, an outing or something! I know I've already touched base with dubaiwalla.

My ISP has been thoughtful enough to ban flickr again.

It is time to start planning what to see and do when you get here. I suspect there shall be a lot of driving involved, I want to give you an idea of just how much construction is going on, and seeing it with your own eyes is the only way to begin to grasp the magnitude of things. Make a list of things you want to see while you're here. Stuff I was thinking of includes the Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, the Madinat Jumeirah complex and the Grand Hyatt. We also need to go drinking once as well as remind you of how good falafels can be.

The coefficients are misleading. UEFA calculates these things based on the end of the year coefficients over 5 years. These were for 5 matches. STAT 101: Small sample sizes lead to statistics that don't reflect reality.

Don't worry, you're not missing out much with these pictures, but it is worrying if you can't see the others ( ... )

What's @ the Grand Hyatt? dubaiwalla December 3 2005, 06:05:01 UTC
I'd rather not spoil the details for you, but let's just say the inside is worth a look. Also, the shape of the buildings in the complex supposedly spells out Dubai when viewed from above.

Yeah, me and Hari had a nice discussion on these stats last nite as I couldn't believe it myself. It is obviously true that clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool or Barcelona are better than the 3 Romanian teams put together. But what UEFA does is that it takes an average of efficiency (wins vs losses and draws) which is again misleading, as our teams played average teams in the UEFA Cup (more or less, but not Barcelona material). That could be another cause of confusion ( ... )

Now that you've had your time in the sunshine, go back to playing UEFA Cup. ;)

Nah man, it's fantastic improvement indeed. Well done Rromanys! :P

Well, you just used my team as a benchmark for good football. I think there is room for both of us to be happy.

Hehe... glad to hear that... I would rather take Spanish or Italian football over Premiership. I consider Barcelona the team that has best chances of winning the CL this season...
