Snakes on a plane?

I'm very much in favor of a game system that disables minmaxing, but that game premise sounds a little too religiously odd for my tastes. I can do freaky fictional religions, but ones that are close to reality creep me out. I'd feel like I was mocking Mormonism, and I have several mormon friends.

I am still torn on how I feel about the Mormon inspiration for the game. On one hand the game's very open mechanics and even the way most of it is written make the religion very generic. It is not overly specific and leaves it pretty open to the players and GM to determine what and how much ceremony, what morals and how much supernatural effects and such to include in the game. At the same time despite the majority of the aspects that are very generic I can't help shake feeling that there is just enough overt and covert references to the Mormon faith in ways that make you feel like the Author is trying hard to not and yet you feel slightly evangelized by the book ( ... )
