heh, this isn't quite north enough to be bear country. It's wildcat country, though, from what I understand. I think Sanjit was mad I was taking pictures.
The nearest city of any significance is La Crosse, and even that's quite a distance away. The gas station/deli/hang-out spot next to the canoe launch serves freedom fries. It's pretty and all, but I certainly wouldn't want to be stranded without a quick way home.
Interestingly enough, though, I saw exclusively Obama signs in the town. I don't know if it's just a credit to Obama's ground-game; perhaps McCain's people can't stretch out far enough to hit these little 1000-people towns, but it was surprising nonetheless, and definitely not something I saw four years ago with Kerry.
Heh - I was about to comment on the hot guys at the chicken awards, then I realized I know a lot of people in the picture from work and Darkside. Freaky small world...
The comment is coming from inside the house! Inside the house!
So, out of curiosity, what's your impression of these people? I don't know them very well, but I've spent 48 hours in the woods with them per year for nearly a decade.
Hmm... they all seem to have a good time, but this is probably due to the mass consumption of alcohol that occurs at all their events. The guys are almost all hot and throw my gaydar for a loop - it's something in the Union Grove water, I guess.
heh, The Grove, my native land. If I had to guess what was in their water, I'd say lead.
As for the gaydar, the guy on the far left of this picture seemed like a sure-bet. The rest are all uber-masculine in a possibly latent sort of way, but I couldn't see any of them going beyond the "I let some fag blow me" point.
