AWA - Need Advice

Aug 20, 2010 15:56

Anyone been to AWA? I somehow managed to get a table (even though I'm in the very back corner facing the back wall, but what can I expect so late? lol).

Never been there! No clue what to expect! Can anyone share their experience with me for AWA? Particularly those familiar with artist alley?

A map of where I'll be: life, cons

AWA was my first con, and one of the longest running ones I've been to year to year. Had to cut back on going due to Boston to Atlanta being hell expensive.

If they still have the 24 hour artist alley in the main lobby, it's ROCKING. I made a shit ton of money just by staying up for 18 hours and selling when the rest of the room was gone.

I found a lean towards animals in the sales (cats, dragons, wolves..), a lot of furries abound, and a lot of older series for anime/manga did well. AWA buyers always liked my deals, 3 prints for $20 was a hit, and tossing in a free sticker when they bought $25 dollars of stuff.

AWA buyers always felt older and more mature than a lot of the anime cons I've done, less 12+ kids, and more 20+ college aged folks, bring stuff to please that group.

Looks like the AA is now in one of the halls and not the main lobby. And has set hours =/

But that's cool that there's a furry presence! My stuff isn't all too furry but I have some still. That's awesome they like deals. I've been doing the 3 for $20 for a while too and it's helped me X3

It'll be cool to experience an anime con with a more mature crowd. Thanks for the tips!
