I just tried making cornbread, to go with chilli con carne for dinner.

If it had been a cake, it would have been the best cake I've ever made!

... but it was a bit sweet for dinner :(
But it was so lovely and moist, dangit. Pah. I put less sugar than it said, even :(

Silly Maz, Cornbread is supposed to be quite sweet! And it can be a dessert!
Try it with some syrup (preferably maple syrup, but I dunno if you get that down there)

Hehe, ohh.... I knew it was meant to be a little bit sweet, but I wasn't expecting it to be that sweet, I guess!! It tasted rather nice by itself, just not in the context of the chilli beef.

I actually threw most of it away! *embarrassed look* But I saved a chunk, so I will try it with syrup! I have some golden syrup in the pantry. We do get maple syrup down here, but it tends to be expensive-ish, especially for decent stuff :)
