Hm. I'm not sure if that pain has anything to do with your weight, though.
My foot sometimes hurt, too, when hiking or jogging. Eventually I had to quit jogging because my right knee was killing me. The doctors couldn't find anything and I have paused for a year now. Not sure if I want to try again. ^^;

I think it's a combination of bad shoes and weight for me. Not that if I lose weight, the pain won't be back, but I think it will be easier to recover with a more manageable weight :p

I have a problem with my left knee (injury from playing Judo a long long long time ago haha). A friend recommended that I try to build up my thigh and calf muscles to compensate for the kneecap, so far it seems to be working a little. But again, of course I make sure I don't over-exercise to injure it further... XD

Training other parts of your body to release pain in the knee is something I have been recommended to do as well. I just never tried it ... so I don't know if it would have been helpful.
I hope it will help you. ^^
